Ad hoc - Children´s Room

Bild:

On 25 February 2011, we opened a new demand-oriented childcare service  in association with Caritas Family Services called "ad hoc - Children's Room".

Here, the children of students can be looked after for a short time on request, where usual or regular childcare solutions are unavailable and when parents would otherwise be prevented from studying.

This facility is not intended to replace regular childcare facilities.

The Ad hoc - Children's Room is right next to the university in Building IV of the Tarforst residential complex. It has its own entrance with good access for buggies.

The children are looked after by qualified employees.

While parents study, the children are played with and read to; they do arts and crafts, they laugh and they sing. There is also a quiet room where children can sleep or do homework.

And this is how it works:

The child to be looked after should visit the facility at least once or several times with Mum or Dad, so that they can get used to it. Please call us to agree a date for this (tel. no. 06561 / 9671 – 125).

After this has taken place, we can proceed.

The childcare facility is open on an on-request/booking basis at the following times:

Monday to Friday:

2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Bookings must be made on the day before childcare is required by 10.00 a.m. at the latest by telephoning the Bitburg Caritas Family Service.

Telephone: (06561) 9671 - 125. (Please leave us a message. We regularly check for messages.)

Written registration will then take place on-site at the childcare facility.

The cost is EUR 2.50 per commenced hour. Payment is only accepted via TUKAN. Please pay your fees before picking your child or children up on TUKAN. This can be found once you have registered using your Tunika in the TUKAN Shop under "adhoc-Betreuung" (ad hoc childcare). Then please hand your proof of payment (the TUKAN ticket) to an employee of the Bitburg Caritas Family Service on-site.

Any bookings will be charged for, even if they have not been used.

We cannot look after ill children (childhood illnesses, fever, colds etc.). Decisions relating to this will be made by the carer after discussion with the Caritas operations manager.

Please bring the following items in a bag, rucksack or similar:

  • Food
  • Drink
  • A change of clothes
  • Nappies, Wipes, Cream
  • Slippers or socks with grips
  • Soft toy, soother etc.
