The apartment complex Martinskloster/Haus am Baum is located on the banks of the Moselle near the Trier University of Applied Sciences and has 185 rooms. The historical old building Mrtinsk Monastery has a total of 75 residential units.
The former Benedictine monastery was built in the 4th century. Founded in the AD and since then experienced the development and development of the city of Trier over the centuries.
In 1972, parts of the historic old building, which is listed as a monument, were converted into a student residence.
On the monastery grounds, the Haus am Baum residential complex is being built parallel to the renovation in the immediate vicinity. The complex, built in wood-hybrid construction, comprises 110 barrier-free apartments, some of which are equipped for the disabled. The first intake is August 2022.
Due to its central location in the middle of the city, the facility is suitable for students of the Trier University of Applied Sciences as well as for those who prefer to be close to the city, because from here all the shopping and leisure facilities of the inner city can be reached very quickly.
